You are entitled to revoke your consent at any time.

1. General information about the use of cookies

a) Description and scope of data processing

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files stored in the internet browser or by the internet browser on the user’s computer system. If a user visits a website, a cookie may be stored on the user’s operating system. This cookie contains a characteristic string of characters that enables the browser to be uniquely identified when the website is called up again.

This website uses the following types of cookies, the scope and function of which are explained below:

  • transient cookies
  • persistent cookies

We use cookies primarily to make our website more user-friendly. Some elements of our website require the calling browser to be identifiable even after a page change. The following data is stored and transmitted in the cookies:

b) Log-in information

In addition, we also use cookies on our website which enable an analysis of users’ surfing behavior.  In this way the following data can be transmitted:

1. search terms entered
2. frequency of page views
3. use of website functions

User data thus collected is pseudonymized by way of technical precautions. It is therefore no longer possible to assign data to the user calling. Data is not stored jointly with other personal data of users. When accessing our website, an information banner informs users regarding the use of cookies for the purpose of analysis and their consent to the processing of personal data used in this context is obtained.

Detailed information on the use of cookies may be found under V. of this data privacy statement and in our separate cookie notes.

c) Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for the processing of personal data using technically necessary cookies is art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data using cookies for analysis purposes is art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR if user’s related consent has been granted.

d) Purpose of data processing

The purpose of using technically necessary cookies is to simplify the use of websites for users. Some functions of our website cannot be offered without the use of cookies. For these functions it is necessary that the browser is recognized even after a page change. We require cookies for the following applications:

Customer account / customer registration process

These purposes also include our legitimate interest in the processing of personal data in accordance with art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

User data collected through technically necessary cookies will not be used to create user profiles.

Cookie analyses are, however, used for the purpose of website’s quality improvement and its contents. Analysing cookies enable us to identify how our website is used, thereby facilitating an ongoing optimization of our offer.

For further information on the use of our analysis cookies, please refer to V. of this data privacy statement.

e) Duration of storage, possibility of objection and removal

Transient cookies are automatically deleted on closing of the browser. This includes in particular technically necessary session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, which can be used to assign various requests from your browser to a shared session. As a result, your computer is recognized on your return to our website. Session cookies are deleted upon logging out or closing of the browser.

Persistent cookies, which usually include analysis cookies, are automatically deleted after a specified period of time which may vary depending on the cookie. Cookies in the security settings of your browser may be deleted at any time. Thus, as a user, you also have full control over the use of cookies. You may deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the settings in your internet browser. Cookies already stored may be deleted at any time, also automatically. In the event of cookies being deactivated for our website, there is a risk that website functions cannot be used to their full extent.

2. Analysis tools and advertising

a) Google Analytics

Subject to your consent, this website uses functions of the Google Analytics web analysis service. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files which are stored on your computer and which enable an analysis of your use of the website. Information generated by the cookie about your use of the website such as

  • browser type/version,
  • operating system used,
  • referrer URL (the previously visited page),
  • host name of accessing computer (IP address),
  • time of server request,

are usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The storage of Google Analytics cookies is carried out with your consent only and, therefore, on the basis of art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

b) IP Anonymization

The IP anonymization function on this website has been activated. This means that within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area your IP address will be truncated by Google before it is transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of this website’s operator, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, also to compile reports on website activities and to provide further services to the website operator in connection with the website’s use and the Internet. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be combined with other Google data.

c) Browser Plug-in

You may generally prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software accordingly; we would like to point out, however, that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. Furthermore, you may generally prevent the collection of data generated by cookies and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

d) Consent to data collection

You may consent to collecting your data by Google Analytics by agreeing to the use of tracking cookies (statistics) within the appearing cookie banner. For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please refer to the Google privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de

3. Plug-ins and tools

a) Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called web fonts, provided by Google, for the uniform display of fonts. As a page is called up, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.

The tool has been set up for you in such way that the browser you use need not connect to the Google server. The required web fonts are loaded directly from our server. As a result and due to this tool, Google is not informed that our website has been accessed via your IP address.

Google web fonts are used in this form in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used. For further information on Google web fonts please go to https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and the Google Data Privacy Statement at  https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

b) Google reCAPTCHA

We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (subsequently “reCAPTCHA”) on our websites, provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).

The purpose of reCAPTCHA is to check whether data input on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) is done by a human being or an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyzes the website visitor’s behavior on the basis of various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For analysis purposes, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information elements (e.g. IP address, time spent on website or user’s mouse movements). Data collected during analysis is forwarded to Google.

reCAPTCHA analyses are completely run in the background. Website visitors are not notified of an analysis taking place.

Data processing is based on art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting their web offers against abusive automated spying and SPAM.

For further information on Google reCAPTCHA and Google data privacy statement, please go to: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/ and https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/android.html

3. Social Media Plug-ins

Based on art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f GDPR, we use social plug-ins on our website to make our company better known. The underlying advertising purpose is to be regarded as a legitimate interest in the sense of the GDPR. Responsibility for a data protection compliant operation is to be guaranteed by their respective providers. Our integration of these plug-ins takes place by means of the so-called two-click method in order to protect visitors to our website in the best possible way.

Facebook

On our website, social media plug-ins by Facebook are used to make their use more personal. We use the “LIKE” or “SHARE” button for this purpose. This is an offer made by Facebook.

On calling up a page of our website containing such a plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection with Facebook servers. Plug-in contents are transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser which integrates them into the website.

By way of the plug-in´s integration Facebook is informed that your browser called up the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not hold a Facebook account or are not logged in to Facebook at the time. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.

If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook may directly assign your visit to our website to your Facebook account. If you interact with any plug-ins, for example by clicking the “LIKE” or “SHARE” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. In addition, the information is published on Facebook and displayed to your Facebook friends.

Facebook may use this information for the purposes of advertising, market research and the design of Facebook pages to meet your needs. To this end, Facebook creates usage, interest and relationship profiles, e.g. to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the advertisements displayed to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website and to provide other services associated with the use of Facebook.

If you do not wish Facebook to assign the data collected via our website to your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. For the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of data by Facebook, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Facebook’s data protection information (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/).

  • complain to a supervisory authority in accordance with art. 77 GDPR. As a rule, you may turn to the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or workplace.

Right of objection

If your personal data are processed on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to art. 6 para. 1, sentence 1, letter f) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data pursuant to art. 21 GDPR, if there are reasons for doing so arising from your particular situation or if the objection is directed against direct marketing. This data privacy statement applies only to content on our servers and does not include websites linked to our site.

Data security

During your visit to our website we use the common SSL (Secure Socket Layer) procedure in connection with the highest encryption level supported by your browser, this usually being a 256 bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You will recognize whether an individual page of our website is being transmitted in encrypted form by the closed display of the key or lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser.
